Midsummer Night's Dream & Breaking News Parent Meeting
Mr. Tourtellotte is doing the Parent/Family Production Meeting for Midsummer and Breaking News on Tuesday, September 9th, at 7:15 PM in Room N111. Everyone who has a student working on either show is expected to send a representative (preferably an adult representative) — if anyone has a truly immovable conflict or obligation, then I'll be sending out the information via email.
Why can't it all just be an email? Because it gives Mr. Tourtellotte a rare opportunity to address the larger family community of students of the Lake Braddock Theatre face-to-face and answer questions.

Sweet Frog Back to School Fundraiser
Join the LBT as we kick off our first Restaurant Night Fundraiser event. Sweet Frog will donate 25% of all sales between 3pm and 9pm to the Lake Braddock Theatre Boosters. Tell your friends, family and neighbors!

The Trojan Women
After a decade of horrendous siege warfare, the Trojan War has finally ended, with the infiltration of the Greek soldiers of Troy and the subsequent destruction of the city and the slaughtering of most of its population. Now, mere days after the fall of Troy, the surviving women of Troy await their fates at the hands of the Greeks, and attempt to make sense of a terrifying new reality and horrible grief Hecuba, the former Queen of Troy, alongside her daughter-in-law, the Princess Andromache, and others know the terrible vengeance of the Greek forces has not yet been fully realized, and that while the war might be over, that a new kind of suffering is just about to begin. As the ships load spoils of war and slavery awaits, a lonely young soldier grapples with his own actions when faced with the human suffering of people he has now met, and a profound connection he could not forsee.
Adapted after Euripedes by Jessie Holder Tourtellotte, this production explores age-old yet tragically relevant questions about the nature of war, violence, and their consequences to civilian populations, particularly women and children, and the unique terrors they face in times of conflict.
Unapologetically staged in a heightened style appropriate to Ancient Greek Theatre, we invite audiences to share in the experience of one of the saddest and most impactful stories ever told, described by one translator as the "…writing of one of the great wrongs of the world into music, by the saddest of the poets."
AUDIENCE ADVISORY: This production will contain use of theatrical prop weapons (including firearms), theatrical stage blood and wounds, sounds of simulated modern warfare, flashing and pulsing light effects, safe and non-toxic theatrical fog and haze, and portrayals of acts of violence, including gendered violence, and references to suicidality.
This production is recommended for MATURE AUDIENCES only.

Cinderella
The Prince is giving a ball! His Royal Highness, the heroic and charming Prince Christopher (or Topher, for short) has returned from University and is soon to be crowned King! But there are problems: the kingdom (and its ruler) are both going through tough times.
On the advice of his counselors, he'll throw a magnificent party, and whichever girl he's dancing with at midnight will be his new bride. Meanwhile, a quiet and gentle young woman named Ella endures a life of neglect and mistreatment at the hands of her cruel and wicked stepmother - yet in spite of her unearned misfortunes, she manages to treat the people in her life with kindness, including a "crazy" old beggar woman named Marie. On the night of the Ball, while the stepfamily flounces away cackling at Ella's misfortunes, something truly impossible, something magical happens, and Ella is given a beautiful gown and a golden opportunity to make her dreams of attending the ball and speaking with the Prince come true - so long as she is back by midnight!
Come and join the Lake Braddock Theatre for one of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most famous and beloved musicals - great for families and audience members of all ages!

Peter Pan Jr.
This high-flying Tony Award-winning musical has been performed around the world and delighted audiences for 60 years and is now adapted for young performers.
Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.
